Q. Hi Tom, Tell us a little bit about yourself.
A. Hi, thanks for having me. I live in Toronto, Canada. I’m in my early 40’s and work in the food manufacturing industry.
Q. How long have you been building/modifying die-cast?
A. My first model building was 1/25 scale Revell models when I was in my early teens. I then moved on to restoring Tonka Toys and other pressed steel. But Hot Wheels is my favored because of the large variety and availability of the castings.
Q. What do you like about customizing die cast?
A. I like trying to make the casting look more realistic. I remove any over the top graphics and add small details like headlights and real rubber wheels. I also like doing wide-body fenders and lowering cars.
Q. What is next the customization for you?
A. lol, I’m not sure, I will look through my collection or go shopping and when I see a casting that gets me excited, I just go for it.
